Just over a week ago today, the Lionesses made history by clinching back-to-back Euros titles.
Following the Euro 2024 Final, I intended to write an in-depth match report for FootieFusion. However, the piece soon became a wider reflection on England’s turbulent journey to defending their crown.
There were so many individual narratives crafted by the Lionesses throughout the tournament- such as Hannah Hampton’s rise to heroism, and 19-year-old Michelle Agyemang’s emphatic arrival on the European stage- to the point that one article would not do justice to the team’s achievements.
Nonetheless, I hope that my rather lengthy piece offers some insight into England’s unwavering self-belief, along with their terse final encounter against Spain.
