It was an honour to report on England Women’s Homecoming Celebration from the media pen yesterday at the Queen Victoria Memorial.

To see 65,000 fans turn out to cheer on the Lionesses after their Euro 2025 triumph was incredible and shows just how far the women’s game has come.

While England’s turbulent title defence left our nerves in tatters at times, the team’s resilience and togetherness only made us love the team and the victories more. I, for one, witnessed my dad run out of our apartment on holiday shouting from joy at England’s dramatic shootout victory against Sweden.

And England captain Leah Williamson has plans to make further memories, saying to the fans: “Stay with us, this story is not done yet…”💫
